π₯π· Pancakes, P.E. & Pig Tales πββοΈβοΈ
We marked Shrove Tuesday by learning about its meaning and tradition before Lent begins. The children enjoyed chatting about pancakes and favourite toppings, while also understanding that Shrove Tuesday reminds us to prepare for the season of Lent. We spoke about the importance of making Lenten promises — small, thoughtful goals such as being extra kind, helping at home, or trying our very best in school.
In P.E., the children have been developing their skills through athletics and gymnastics activities; balancing, jumping, rolling and working together as a team.
Our story of the week, The 3 Little Pigs, brought great excitement to the classroom. We used our fantastic drama skills to act out the story, and there was lots of laughter when we retold it in Irish as Na Trí Mhuicín. The Big Bad Wolf certainly kept us busy!
Meanwhile, our Handwriting Heroes continue to work extremely hard, taking pride in neat presentation and careful letter formation. π
