A ‘sweet’ week!🍬

14th Nov 2025

Junior and Senior Infants had an extra-sweet week in school! We began with our usual Circle Time, and this week was extra special because it was Anti-Bullying Week. We took part in ‘Odd Sock Day’ to stand up against bullying. We spent lots of time talking about kindness—using kind words, kind hands and kind feet. The children practised showing kindness in their play, their conversations and their classroom jobs.

We also worked on the Number 3 in our junior infant stations, exploring it through fun activities and number games.

Our Story of the Week was Hansel and Gretel, and we enjoyed lots of themed art and activities. These tied in perfectly with our Aistear theme: The Bakery; Because our theme was the bakery, we didn’t just learn about baking—we became real-life bakers!

On Friday, the excitement was at its peak as the children got to make their own Rice Crispy buns. They mixed, stirred and created their treats just like real bakers, and the classroom was filled with joy (and a few delicious smells!).

It was a super fun, super sweet week—full of kindness, creativity and treats! 🍰✨
