Creative Schools
We are delighted to let you know that our school has been selected to take part in the Creative Schools initiative during this academic year.
Creative Schools is a flagship programme of the Arts Council, in partnership with the Department of Education and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. Its aim is to put the arts and creativity at the heart of children’s and young people’s lives. Schools that take part are given the opportunity to explore creativity across all areas of learning, and to work closely with artists, creative professionals, and local cultural organisations.
Through the programme, we will be supported by a Creative Associate—a trained artist/creative practitioner who will work with our staff, pupils, and wider school community. Together, we will develop a Creative Schools Plan tailored to our school’s unique needs and interests. This plan will help us to embed creativity in our everyday practice, ensuring that children’s voices play a central role in shaping the experiences we offer.
For our pupils, this means more opportunities to explore the arts, to develop confidence in expressing themselves, and to discover new ways of learning and problem-solving. For parents and families, it means being part of a community that values imagination, curiosity, and collaboration.
We look forward to sharing this journey with you throughout the year and celebrating the creativity of our children as the programme unfolds.
