Heritage Keepers

12th Jun 2026

Our Sixth Class pupils recently took part in the Heritage Keepers Programme, an engaging initiative that encouraged them to explore and celebrate their local heritage.

As part of the programme, the pupils worked collaboratively in groups to research and create a booklet on the history of Maghercloone. Through their investigations, they learned about the rich heritage, landmarks, traditions and stories that have shaped the local community over the years. The project provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to develop their research, teamwork and presentation skills while gaining a deeper appreciation of their local area.

The culmination of their hard work came at our End-of-Year School Mass, where the pupils proudly presented their booklet to the school community. Their presentations showcased the knowledge they had gained and highlighted the dedication and effort that went into producing such an impressive piece of work.

We are extremely proud of all the pupils for their enthusiasm, creativity and commitment throughout the project. The Heritage Keepers Programme was a valuable and rewarding experience, helping our pupils connect with the history of Maghercloone and preserve it for future generations.

Well done to all involved!
